To interested Ghanaian textile & garment manufacturers,
It is with great excitement that we invite your company to be part of the 2nd phase of Africa Fashion
and Textile Accelerator Network (Africa FAN) project, which is implemented from September 2022 to
August 2023. This project is set up by the Special Initiative on Training and Job Creation of the German
Federal Ministry or Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and co-implemented with
International Trade Centre (ITC) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
The second phase of the project aims to increase volume of sourcing by international buyers from
African T&A producers leading to job creation in local T&A industries.
As an Africa FAN member, you will have the opportunity to benefit from:
Production of a company profile to be shared with potential buyers interested in sourcing from
your company
Production of audio-visual materials (photo, video) to be shared with international buyers
Participation in B2B activities (e.g. buyer’s missions, matchmaking) between international
brands/retailers and African textiles and apparel producers, so trial orders can be placed
Participation in a compliance programme offering trainings, coaching and funding towards
audits & certifications for selected factories in line with international standards in quality,
sustainability & social compliance – offered by the Alliance for Product Quality in Africa (AfPQ)
As its one of the first activities, Africa FAN will facilitate and sponsor the participation of three Ghanaian
companies in the trade fair Africa Fashion and Sourcing Week (AFSW) happening in Addis Ababa,
Ethiopia on 4 – 7 November 2022.
Selection criteria:
Registered company in Ghana
Mid/large-sized company in textiles and apparel sector
Export-ready/exporting experience that can be demonstrated through past export sales in the
relevant products
Functional marketing profile and materials (website, social media and/or promotional materials
etc.)
Products/services meeting international quality standards
Logistical and production capacity to meet international orders
Commitment and compliance with the terms and conditions of participation/exhibition

trade fair
indicate your interest in the Compliance programme

like to be certified in.
